I’m unbelievably honored and feeling gooder than goose grease to be chosen Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers 2014 Writer of the Year. I can’t thank RMFW enough for teaching me, holding my hand, and being the best writing family in the world.  Here is a picture of the nominees before the announcement. Christine Jorgensen, (who was also nominated for a Colorado Book Award this year) and Terry Wright, both talented writers and amazing people.

Baker’s series debut brings Native American culture and big business together into a clash that can be heard across the mountains. Fans of J.A. Jance’s Joanna Brady will see  similarities in Nora Abbott.   –Library Journal

         Praise for Broken Trust:

This is an intriguing plot with characters you will love and hate at the same time. For the history buffs out there, this is a wonderful story of Hopi myths, and for the mystery gurus, there is a little corporate greed and murder to go along.    Suspense Magazine

Baker deftly escalates the stakes of her initially straightforward story which takes a much more serious turn before arriving at its unexpected conclusion. — Publishers Weekly
